We had our learning celebration. We asked our families to come and see what we have been doing this term. We showed them our tadpoles, our blog and our machines we had made. We read them some of our stories. Then we danced and sang a Christmas song. We liked sharing with our Mums and Dads.

Mufti Day

We had a special mufti day yesterday and we all got to dress up as the job we wanted to do when we grow up.
In our class we have a builder, a singer, an All Black, a super hero, a policeman, a teacher, a pilot, a nurse, a fire fighter, a soccer player, a basketball player, a ballet dancer, a professional runner, and a lawyer.
We had to bring a gold coin donation and some of the money will buy a new sandpit cover and most of the money will go to World Vision to help families who are not as lucky as us.

Jackson's adventures

I am very excited because I am going to Auckland. But we are moving to a motel first. We can play cricket there and it is close to the beach where you can go fishing. We are moving to Auckland in the big holidays. By Jackson

Yes we were all able to stay awake today, even though we had such a busy weekend. Mrs Tamblyn said we were all wonderful during reading today and we started writing some great tadpole stories that we are going to type up so we can share them with other people.

A Long Weekend

We have just had a long weekend. It was a holiday on Friday because it was Show weekend. The show had lots of farm animals, tractors, balloons, fair rides and hot dogs to eat. It is great fun at the show. It was also Canterbury Anniverary day. We all did different things on our day off. Tayla got lovely new shoes, Ryan went fishing with his Dad, Aidan went camping, Paige and Ruby both stayed with their grandparents. Charlotte had lemonade at her grandad's house. We were all very busy, we like 3 day weekends!
Oli is very excited that we have had a comment from his Aunty who lives in Australia. His aunty lives in Perth which is on the other side of the country from the Gold Coast.

Our first frog

We let our first frog go into the pond. He swam around and he had a lot of fun. Then he climbed up the side of the pond and we took some pictures of him. His tail is getting smaller and he doesn't look like a tadpole anymore.

Pond updates

The pond has been dug! We have filled it with water and put in some water plants. We are waiting for the water to warm up so we can add some tadpoles. We have a tadpole that has 4 legs and is nearly a frog. As soon as he starts climbing on the rock we will put him in the pond.

Emails from Switerland

We have had an email from Luke's friends in Switerland. We know that Switerland is a long way away. We saw it on the map. Luke has been trying to teach us how to say hello in Swiss. We are not very good with other languages, but we like giving it a go. Luke's friends can speak Swiss and English.
Luke told us about Switerland. It has crunchier bread, lots and lots of people everywhere you go and you can see mountains everywhere with snow on them.
we haves some tadpoles growing some legs. The legs are on the back .

It is sports day today. We are very excited. We will do long jump and high jump and an obstacle race. Our school caretaker has mowed the field and we have a great track to run on. We have been practising so we think we will be very good at all the events.
